In answer to your question at twitter Ning is very different from Facebook. You ask questions or respond to questions in the Forum. If you have never blogged before you can write your own blog post. You can also share photos and videos.
To manage the information from this community the best thing to do is to subscribe to the RSS feed from the Forum posts and blog posts using your feed reader e.g. Google Reader. If I have just used words that sound alien please let me know so that I can help you set it up so you get more out of interacting with this community.
